Connolly successfully sends ten bills to the Senate

SACRAMENTO, CA – This week, the California State Assembly convened for the first major legislative deadline known as “House of Origin”. This deadline requires legislators to discuss, deliberate and vote on legislation introduced in its house of origin by May 29th. In total, Assemblymember Connolly (D-San Rafael) successfully passed ten bills out of the Assembly to the Senate.
1.AB 1585: This bill will require that wine labeled as “American” be made from 100 percent American-grown wine grapes.
2.AB 1711: This bill will ensure that money generated by the fairgrounds is re-invested quickly into critical infrastructure improvements and maintenance projects.
3.AB 1891: This bill will support conservation goals by expanding funding for beneficial fire projects.
4.AB 2045: This bill extends the Habitat Restoration and Enhancement Act, which streamlines important restoration projects.
5.AB 2157: This bill makes the Displaced Oil and Gas Workers Fund permanent, ensuring workers affected by refinery closures have access to training that prepares them for jobs outside of the oil and gas sector.
6.AB 2227: This bill will ensure domestic farmworkers are adequately protected against wage theft.
7.AB 2260: This bill will expedite the permitting process for small water projects that restore fish and wildlife habitats.
8.AB 2577: This bill will require courts to make sure Proposition 65 settlements are utilized correctly by requiring companies to add warning labels or enact measures that reduce exposure to harmful chemicals.
9.AB 2618: This bill will put a two-year prohibition on California Public Utility Commissioners from leaving to work as lobbyists for utility companies after their term ends.
10.AB 2777: This bill will provide additional flexibility for the State Water Resources Control Board to modernize the Clean Water State Revolving Fund program.
These bills will now be referred to policy committees in the Senate.
